Duke University students visit Solar

On July 11th, Solar received the visit of 11 students from Duke University, located in Durham, North Carolina, Unites States of America.

These students learned about Solar structure and work, played with the children from child education, attended to hip hop class and played football. They also made a donation of R$400,00.

They are participating of a summer program with the objective to learn Portuguese. They will spend two weeks in Rio de Janeiro analyzing social question and 2 weeks in Amazonia analyzing the environmental question.

on their return to University, students will write a project about visited institutions, the issues that need to be worked and their possible solutions, as well as the reasons why they want to come back to Brazil.

The selected students will win a scholarship to come back to Brazil for 3 months and volunteer in an institution of their choice. At their return in May, June and July, they will get support to learn Portuguese and answer the social and environmental questions analyzed in their work.
