H.Stern store of Copacabana reduces solar energy bills

26/01/2017

H.Stern store of Copacabana has supported Solar since 2014. From February 2014 to December 2016, the store donated 47.000 kilos of recyclable material to Light Recicla program in Solar’s name, generating a saving of R$ 8.724.79 in Solar Meninos de Luz energy bills.

Light Recicla Program is a Light sustainable project which aims to exchange recyclable trash by energy bill discount. It is destined to clients living in low-income communities in Botafogo and Humaitá districts, in Rio de Janeiro, and in Japeri and Paraíba do Sul counties, as well as registered social organizations.

Initiated in August 2011, the project contemplates the sustainability tripod, which includes social, environmental and economic aspects, as it encourages the population and companies to treat trash, disseminate environment preservation culture and still generate income by allowing that the customer pays less for consumed energy. Light Recicla also contributes to reducing public spending on urban cleaning.

Thank you, H. Stern! Thank you, Light!
