Rebecca and the Tree Game

16/07/2018

Rebeca Rossi, of 9th year, chose “Childhood Education” theme as a project work at this two-month period. Professor Thais Cerquereira showed the importance of mathematics and how to teach through games, stimulating the interest of students.

At the age of 14 and already thinking of “transforming lives”, she created a mathematical game called Tree Game, and put it into practice with Pre-School II students. The game has two trees and each one of them 12 berries. The child rolls a dice and, depending on the number that falls, she has to cover the same amount of berries. Guaranteed learning and fun!

“I wanted to do something important, to change someone’s reality. It is at this age that children begin to learn in fact and I want them to see that in school, they learn. That is the best way!”, said Rebeca, full of pride.

She has already started researching about her next project: she will teach adults how to prevent such a serious disease: cancer. We are so proud.
