Hortifruti collects 7 tons of food for Solar Meninos de Luz

Christmas is coming and, in this heartwarming time, Solar received an amazing present from Amarantes Association, formed by Hortifruti employees: 7 tons of food. That's right, a truckload of products!

Through the "Game of Good Will" action, 2,500 employees of Hortifruti’s 24 stores in Rio de Janeiro gathered all the food in 2 weeks. Every product, from a list sent by Solar based on our monthly menu, counted points. Leblon store won the contest in a tight dispute with Ipanema.

According to Ieda Zanotti, Hortifruti consultant, the campaign was motivated to "humanize Christmas and bring the prospect of loving one another this time of the year and to make that feeling greater than buying gifts! We wish this action will bring us a fraternal sense of engagement and caring for each other. "

Solar is very thankful for the great idea and action of Amarantes Association, its engaged employees, and in particular the President Walkyria Majevsky and Fatima Barreiras, the company’s Resources Association director, who visited Solar, watching, cheering, monitoring and ensuring the success of the game.

Solar provides daily 1,380 meals for four hundred children that are from 3 months until 18 years old, and also to our 75 direct employees. 3.5 tons of products are used each month. The action outcome contributes to the food cost reduction, allowing the payment of other basic administrative costs.
